Our Team

Meet Katie Spiroski - our Casework Manager

I began working with JRS Australia in November 2018 and have never looked back.

I am a Social Worker by qualification and began working with people seeking asylum when completing my fourth year Social Work placement at another organistion focussed on supporting people seeking asylum – this was in 2012 and I have been working with people seeking asylum since.

I currently manage the Casework Service at JRS. Alongside developing and overseeing the Casework program, I support a team of superstar Caseworkers in serving people seeking asylum.

For me, the move to JRS has been the perfect intersection between a passion for human (and animal!) rights and working for an organisation whose mission and values truly align with my own.

Whilst the landscape for people seeking asylum in Australia has only worsened since I first began working in this field, I couldn’t be surrounded by a better group of people (clients, staff and volunteers alike) with whom to fight the battle.
