Meet Zoe Grant - our Community and Schools Engagement Coordinator
My name is Zoe and I’m the Community and Schools Engagement Coordinator. I joined JRS Australia in 2020. I have always admired how JRS works to support and accompany people seeking asylum, refugees and migrants in vulnerable situations on all levels — from directly supporting people in the community to doing advocacy on a national level.
I have been passionate about advocating for refugee rights and social justice since studying human rights as part of my Bachelor of Behavioural Science. Since then, I have enjoyed doing a variety of roles in this area. These have included working at ChilOut, were I advocated for children in immigration detention and coordinated a refugee youth ambassador program; working at Settlement Services International, where I ran a community hub at a school supporting refugee and migrant families; and working working as the Social Justice and Youth Coordinator at Vinnies.
