Our Team

Georgia-Rae Cobon Casework and Emergency Relief Manager

I have worked and volunteered with refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia for nearly 10 years. I hold a Bachelor in International and Global Studies (Sydney Uni) and a Masters in Development (UNSW). My professional experience has included working in research, advocacy and campaigns, within legal centres and also in program delivery. I have worked internationally on climate emergencies and women’s leadership, most notably with countries across the Pacific Islands. I aim to work alongside communities who have been disadvantaged and marginalised, to understand and respond to their issues and to create opportunities for their voices to be amplified. I have been a volunteer and staff member at JRS since February 2021 and was drawn to JRS because of their commitment to serving the most vulnerable in our community, and to support people with a dignified and human rights based approach.
