Fundraising
A bake sale, a mufti day, or a whole-school challenge? Small ideas can make a big difference when a school comes together.
Fundraise for JRS Australia
Turn your school’s ideas into action
When your school fundraises for JRS Australia, you stand alongside refugees and people seeking asylum as they rebuild their lives in Australia.
Your fundraising helps sustain practical support, including food and emergency relief, casework, employment assistance and support for women who have experienced violence.
It’s a chance for your school community to put compassion into action and help build a more just and welcoming Australia.
How will your school fundraise?
There are so many ways to get involved. Schools have raised funds for JRS through:
- Mufti and theme days — get creative with a day everyone can take part in.
- Bake sales, food stalls and student markets — put your cooking, crafting and entrepreneurial skills to work.
- Raffles and challenges — bring your year group, house or whole school together around a shared goal.
- Sporting events and talent shows — turn your school’s talents into support for refugees and people seeking asylum.
- Community events — invite families and the wider school community to join in.

Fundraising in action: Catherine McAuley, Westmead
One school. Big ideas. $12,000 raised.
Students at Catherine McAuley Westmead brought extraordinary creativity and generosity to their fundraising throughout Term 4 in 2025. They sold snow cones, handmade Christmas cards, lemonade, Krispy Kremes, artworks, sausages and more — raising an incredible $12,000 for JRS Australia.
Their efforts show what’s possible when students bring their ideas, energy and commitment to a cause they care about. Every stall and initiative helped support JRS’s work alongside refugees and people seeking asylum.
We’re grateful to the students and school community for their generosity, creativity and genuine interest in our mission.
Now let’s make it happen!
We’d love to help your school bring its fundraising idea to life.
Our team can share resources, help you learn more about JRS Australia and, where possible, visit your school to deliver a workshop or speak at an assembly.
