Head of Advocacy and Communications – 0.9 FTE; SCHADS Award; Contracted to 30 June 2025, with possibility of renewal or transition to permanency subject to ongoing availability of funding.

JRS Australia seeks a dynamic senior professional to lead an exciting portfolio of work and a small, high-performing team as its Head of Advocacy and Communications. The position-holder reports to the Country Director and is a member of the JRS Australia senior management team.

The position-holder is responsible for developing and leading a whole-of-agency approach to advocacy and communications. Such an approach is informed by evidence derived from JRS’ service delivery and accompaniment of refugees, people seeking asylum and migrants in situations of vulnerability, along with the priorities and perspectives of diaspora leaders with whom JRS works.

Working closely with the Country Director and Assistant Country Director, the Head of Advocacy and Communications plays a key role in enhancing JRS Australia’s profile and impact. This includes brokering and managing strategic relationships across relevant portfolios, including with colleagues and networks in the Asia-Pacific region and globally.
