Training Details

This training, organised through our Leadership Program, is a chance to learn, connect with other leaders and build practical skills for speaking up about the issues that matter to you and your community.

Across six Saturdays, we will explore leadership and power, and learn about community organising, Australia’s political system, advocacy and meeting with MPs. We will also discuss how we look after our wellbeing as leaders and advocates.

You do not need to have previous leadership or advocacy experience to join this training.

All people with lived experience of forced displacement are welcome: you only need to bring along your experience and your interest in making a difference.

Meet our Trainers

Alongside Refugee Leadership Officer Joannie Lee, we will also be joined by three wonderful guest trainers, with their own lived experience:

  • Abang Anade Othow, Founder of the Buckets of Hope Workshop and Deputy Chair of the Asylum Seekers Centre
