Our Challenge
Casework and Emergency Relief Services
In our Casework and Emergency Relief program, our specialised caseworkers help individuals and families navigate pathways to housing security, improve access to essential welfare, health and mental health services, and advocate for families who need early childhood education and care.
The Challenge:
People on temporary visas and those seeking asylum often encounter significant hurdles:
Systemic Obstacles: Navigating asylum applications, visa issues, and other legal matters can be overwhelming. Social welfare safety nets are out of reach for many of the people we support, and this adds to the challenge.
Emotional and Psychological Struggles: Many refugees and people seeking asylum have experienced trauma and need mental health support to heal and integrate into their new communities.
Basic Needs: Access to housing, education, and healthcare are fundamental, yet frequently out of reach without proper support and advocacy.
Our Solution:
With your generous support, we can continue to provide:
Expert Information and Referral Assistance: Our team of trauma-informed caseworkers and volunteers provide tailor-made solutions and access to community support services.
Improved access to essential health and mental health services: Our team navigate obstacles like lack of Medicare; to support the people we work with to access quality healthcare, mental health counselling, and medication.
Essential Resources: For people in crisis, facing homelessness or destitution, our casework services can provide emergency relief payments, access to essential food and material aid, furniture, items for children and babies, and more.
We receive no Federal or State Government funding for our Casework and Emergency Relief services, and there is a real risk we will not be able to continue this work without your ongoing support.
How You Can Help
Your donations support the people we serve to access crucial services, and to have an advocate and friend in their corner as they build a life in Australia:

$100 – helps an individual to access essential medications for a month
$250 – supports an individual with an Emergency Relief payment to help them sustain accommodation
$500 – Supports our casework team to provide pathways to safety and opportunity for a family in need.
Every contribution makes a difference.
