In Our Island – JRS Asia Pacific Offers Stories of Hope from the Frontlines of Climate Change
27 October 2025
In Our Island captures the vision, views, and values of climate-vulnerable communities of Nocnocan Island- Bohol as they make difficult choices and imagine their future amid a changing environment.
The documentary highlights not only the environmental challenges they face but also the resilience, hope, and wisdom of the local people that sustain them.
This documentary is part of the Research and Advocacy for Climate Policy and Action (RACPA) project (2023–2028), implemented by JRS Asia Pacific together with the Institute of Environmental Science for Social Change (ESSC) and Percik Institute, with support from the Government of Australia and Caritas Australia.
Through RACPA, JRS and its partners seek to amplify community voices and promote evidence-based advocacy on the urgent issue of climate displacement — one of the most pressing challenges for people we serve today.
We encourage you to watch and share it with your colleagues and networks. Each story helps us deepen our understanding and strengthen our collective commitment to accompany communities and people forced to flee due to climate change.
