Vouchers for Emergency Relief
JRS Australia is seeking gift vouchers to support people seeking asylum who are experiencing financial hardship.
For many of the individuals and families we accompany, there is no access to government income support. When unexpected expenses arise — rent increases, medical costs, or school requirements — there is often no safety net.
Gift vouchers provide immediate, practical relief while restoring dignity and choice.
Why Gift Vouchers Matter
While the JRS Foodbank provides essential and culturally sensitive pantry items, supermarket vouchers allow families to supplement this support with:![]()
-
Fresh meat
-
Fruit and vegetables
-
Additional household essentials
Gift vouchers also enable parents to:
-
Purchase school uniforms and shoes
-
Buy essential clothing items
-
Cover basic necessities many of us take for granted
JRS also distributes chemist vouchers, allowing people to purchase necessary medications that they are otherwise unable to afford.
For people facing significant financial hardship, gift vouchers restore choice, autonomy, dignity, and a sense of normality
They allow people seeking asylum to make practical decisions about their own needs and those of their families.
